American Market?

Posted in Questions and Comments at 5:34 pm by ant73

Hello,

I think after months of trying and adapting to the US affiliate market I am convinced that the issue is not with PPC or choice of affiliate program.  The issue is that we are FULL.  Affiliates programs are everywhere.  I can start my own CJ in ten minutes, it is out of control.  I am looking into other countries that are what the US was in 1999.  I think that is a wise choice.  What do you think?

    Ant,

I made just about as much money in the UK as I did in the US, so going international is definitely not a bad idea. One piece of advice, though. Stick to countries in which you speak the language FLUENTLY. Ad text is the most important part of direct search marketing, and your chances of making money using an English to Chinese dictionary are virtually nil.

I do not think the saturation in the US marketplace is prohibitive to your success here, however. Most people still try to bid their way to the top of results, and remain largely unaware of just how much wider their margins could get with really good ad text. In any given search result, a talented ad writer is really competing against 2 to 12 other talented ad writers, not really the thousands of others competing with no viable strategy to succeed long term in the space.

    Tony
