Hi Everybody, So do you want the good news first, or the bad news?
The Bad News
Let’s just go ahead and get the bad news out of the way. As of May 1st, Amazon.com no longer allows direct search marketing. They were the last really big affiliate program to still allow affiliates to place their ads directly on search and content networks, and their decision to disallow direct search puts the exclamation point on the writing that was already on the wall… Direct search marketing of affiliate programs is no longer the path of least resistance for reaching financial independence. This doesn’t mean that there isn’t still a lot of money to be made in affiliate marketing, but it does mean we have to look at some different approaches.
The Good News
The good news is, there is still a LOT of money to be made in affiliate marketing using other techniques. The even better news is one of these techniques in particular is even easier, and cheaper than direct search was. Let’s get right to our new options;
The Easy Money – Redirecting existing traffic to Casino Programs
I’ve been searching for something as profitable and as easy as Direct Search was – before most companies stopped allowing it – and I’ve even resorted to doing a little hard work, buying domain names, setting up landing pages and advertising those. And although I have had a little modest success there, I don’t appear to have the same knack for web design that I have for ad writing.
HOWEVER… as I have shut down sites that weren’t profitable, I decided to redirect the traffic to online casinos, simply because it wouldn’t cost me any more money, and they were the only programs that would pay commissions on redirected traffic. Most of these domains generated only few clicks a day, so I stopped even looking at them for several months. Last month, I took a closer look and realized, although almost none of this traffic converted, the small number that did convert made multiple online gaming visits and blew an average of more than $4,000.00, and those figures are climbing. With lifetime commissions of 36%, I suddenly realized that I might be able to make some real money with even less effort than my last gig.
I suggest you try what I am now doing, which is this… buy cheap (under $100) existing domain names with at least a trickle of existing traffic (make these European domains like co.uk and .fr, etc. because US law now prevents these affiliate programs from paying you for US traffic), then simply redirect these domains to a casino affiliate program. It may be months before you see your first commission, but as you add more and more domains, these commissions will come quicker and quicker. All you care about is that the domains have some existing daily traffic, but if the domain happens to be gambling specific, that’ll obviously work a little better.
Your only cost is the purchase price of the domains (and you can always sell these sites later, so even that money is recoverable) and the hosting costs, though many sites will do the redirect for free.
Search for and buy the domains at a site like GoDaddy.com. And sign up for the lifetime commission program at Casino Blasters. Take your affiliate link codes you get from casino blasters, and tell GoDaddy to redirect your domains there. Low cost. Low risk. Minimal effort. That simple.
Old School Affiliate Marketing – Using Landing pages
Many affiliate marketers are switching back to the old model of using landing pages to market affiliate programs. If you decide to go this route (and it certainly opens up many avenues for marketing many different products), we have many resources available to you at www.AffiliateMillions.com/web-design.html. You can find affordable and professional web-design assistance and we even offer free website templates. You can view a working example of one of our templates at www.Great-Colleges.com.One thing to keep in mind when you are promoting a website of your own is that your Google pagerank will directly impact the cost and placement of your ads, so be sure to focus some of your efforts on optimizing your site for search engines. If you can successfully climb near to the top of a few key searches, you will begin getting the best kind of traffic… FREE! Add to that the relevancy of the traffic you get from appearing at or near the top of a few relevant search phrases, and you will likely have established a significant revenue stream.
A great book about promoting your own website that I read in preparation for launching the Affiliate Millions website is Insider Seo & Ppc: Get Your Website to the Top of the Search Engines, available now on Amazon.
That’s all for today.

Hi Everyone, Sorry for the delay in publishing this newsletter. My move has proved far more challenging than I first anticipated.
I’ll keep this letter short. A LOT of you have been writing and complaining about how increasingly difficult it is to find programs that still allow direct search marketing without a website, and although there are still some that do allow this (most notably Amazon.com), I too have been having difficulty finding new programs. As a result, I have come to the conclusion that it may soon be next to impossible to make money in search marketing without a website, and I am sadly advising even those who have met with some early success to start strongly considering developing and testing landing pages, in order to continue to compete in the future.
of you have been writing and complaining about how increasingly difficult it is to find programs that still allow direct search marketing without a website, and although there are still some that do allow this (most notably ), I too have been having difficulty finding new programs. As a result, I have come to the conclusion that it may soon be next to impossible to make money in search marketing without a website, and I am sadly advising even those who have met with some early success to start strongly considering developing and testing landing pages, in order to continue to compete in the future.I realize my book dealt very little with web design (we have Greg to credit that it is there at all – since I knew virtually nothing on the subject, and did not see the necessity at the time). But this is what the affiliate millions website is for… to address changes after the book was published. Realizing – as I do – that many of you are most attracted to this business model because of low startup costs, I have done my best to identify affordable solutions to the added burden of developing a website. Free website templates and simple instructions are still available on my website; www.affiliatemillions.com/web-design.html , along with affordable web design companies capable of developing sites tailored to whatever affiliate programs you wish to promote.
I also have found what I believe is the absolute best deal on affordable and service-rich web hosting. Blue Host’s hosting plan includes: – 1 Free Domain – Free Setup – 300 Gigs of Storage Space – 3,000 Gigs of Transfer – 2500 E-Mail Accounts – SSH, Perl, MySQL, FrontPage Extension Support, Fantastico, WYSIWYG Site Builder, Free Marketing Services and more. - Unlimited domains can be hosted for no extra charge on 1 account
I will continue to search for solutions to the new challenges that are the one constant in this industry. Good Luck, Affiliate Millionaires in training!

Hi Everbody,
For those of you way up in the frozen North (where I used to reside before search marketing liberated me from the chilly grip of New England winters), keep your chins up. I dimly recall the frustration of shoveling out my driveway just in time for the plow truck to seal me back in, and then shoveling out a second time before going to bed, only to wake up to another fresh foot of snow. I understand this winter has been even worse than those I was once accustomed to, so I really do feel for you.
First a little news, I received notice that eBay Canada and eBay Australia are following the lead of eBay US & UK and will no longer allow search marketers to link directly to their sites from Google, Yahoo or MSN. It is worth mentioning, however, that you are still allowed to link directly from the so-called third tier search engines. I’ll list my favorites again below.
Affiliate Networks & Programs
Proven Search Marketing Winners
No matter how many times I say it, I still get almost daily emails from folks asking about a good program to start with. If there is a program which is proven to work for search marketers and web site owners alike, offers a wide selection of different products to test your marketing skills on, and has the brand recognition that helps a new ad get traction… it’s got to be Amazon.com. And I’ll tell you something else, too. Although Amazon may not pay the margins to make you rich, until you can turn a small profit with them, you should be cautious trying out other programs. You won’t find companies with more recognized internet brands (though some are as recognized) that are easier to drive traffic too, and if you can’t make an Amazon campaign work, this business might just not be for you.
Search Marketing Friendly Affiliate Networks
ClickXchange – With hundreds of quality affiliate program offers, high conversion rates, and a sign up process that is both quick and easy, ClickXchange is a great place to get started.
AzoogleAds.com – Another vast network of affiliate programs with competitive payouts and high conversion rates, also with a quick and easy sign up process.
Search Engine Marketing Tips
At long last, I am able to promote the MSN adCenter search and content network. For those of you who have read my book, you already know I consider it a top-tier search engine (though smaller than Yahoo and Google), but until today, I have not been able to conclude an agreement with MSN to promote adCenter. Making up for lost time, I can now offer my readers the chance to Try Microsoft adCenter for free* with a $75 credit for paid search clicks.
First Tier Search and Content Networks
Microsoft adCenter – Try Microsoft adCenter for free* with a $75 credit for paid search clicks.
Google AdWords – The pioneer in pay-for-performance search marketing. Google’s AdWords program is one of the top pay-for-performance search engines.
Yahoo/Overture Sponsored Search – Yahoo! represents one of the largest and oldest search engines on the web. They are currently running a promotion offering $25 worth of free advertising to new customers. That could translate to as many as 250 free clicks through to the affiliate programs you choose to advertise. Click on the link below to take advantage of this great offer.
Yahoo! Sponsored Search connects businesses and customers online. Sign up and get a $25 credit.
Second Tier Search and Content Networks
These are the search engines that eBay still allows direct search on. The quality of traffic is not always as high (though in some niche markets it may be higher) but the costs are generally lower, so there are good opportunities to start profitable campaigns, or expand campaigns that are already profitable.
Search 123: A pay-for-placement search model, Search 123 is an excellent outlet for reaching customers you might not be exposed to on the larger search engines.
Enhance Interactive: Enhance is a pay-for-placement search engine with over 2 Billion Monthly Searches. Join Enhance Interactive today and receive $25 in Free Clicks.
MIVA: MIVA is also a pay-for-placement search engine with high quality traffic.
Website Design & Marketing Tips
As most of you know, the bulk of my success with affiliate programs has been with search marketing, and I still believe it is the easiest and quickest path to profitability, but considering that more and more affiliate programs are disallowing this practice, it may well be that landing pages are the future of search marketing. With this in mind…
Website Templates
As I have mentioned before, one of the services we are providing that I am most proud of is our FREE website templates. These templates are professionally designed, and include simple instructions for incorporating your own affiliate advertisements into the html code. Simply download the files from my site and unzip them to your root directory on your web server. Don’t have a web server? Don’t worry, just skip down a few paragraphs and you’ll find affordable and reliable web hosting services you can use to publish your new website. These templates are available at www.AffiliateMillions.com/web-design.html.
Website Promotion
One thing to keep in mind when you are promoting a website of your own is that there are many different options, some of which are not available when using search marketing just to promote affiliate programs. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a good example. With a site of your own, you should focus some of your efforts toward getting your site to appear in the natural search engine results. If you can successfully climb near to the top of a few key searches, you will begin getting the best kind of traffic… FREE! Add to that the relevancy of the traffic you get from appearing at or near the top of a few relevant search phrases, and you will likely have established a significant revenue stream.

Hi Tony,
As a New England native, I need to make this quick so I can watch the Patriots make history tonight in the Super Bowl.
For those of you who missed my last newsletter and haven’t already heard, I received in December that eBay UK would follow eBay.com in no longer allowing search marketers to link directly to the eBay.co.uk site, and this new policy went into effect on February 1st. They still allow you to set up your own website to promote eBay UK, and I remind you all that my free web site templates are available at www.AffiliateMillions.com/web-design.html, and can help make the process of starting your own website to market affiliate programs as easy as possible.

Hi Everybody,
Well, something’s been eating my chickens. I’m down from about 30 to just 4.
What’s this got to do with search marketing, you might ask? Well… nothing, I guess. I just miss my chickens.
At least it gave me an excuse to drive up to my ranch last week and spend a few days with my brother building a chicken coop to keep the remaining chickens safe (they’d been roosting in an open barn where the fox – or whatever it was – could get them pretty easily). It was nice to do a little real work again, but I’ll tell you, I’m glad I don’t have to work that hard everyday.
Thank God my day job is a breeze!
But, forget about my success. Let’s talk for a minute about your’s.
For a couple months now, I’ve been promising those of you who’ve written to me about your own successes that I would set up a forum in which you could share your stories with everyone. This week, I added a new category to the Affiliate Millions Discussion Board. The category is Success Stories, and I’d like to encourage those of you who would like to share your stories to do so by posting them to this new category. Remember, you have to login to the Discussion Site to see the “Write a Post” option on your account dashboard. If you don’t know how to choose a category, don’t worry, I’ll make sure it winds up in the right one.
Now, on to the tips.

I hope your summer vacation is going as well as mine. My whole family has been on the ranch now for three weeks, and we’re having a great time. Robyn is learning how to take care of the horses, and getting very comfortable with them, I must say. Alyssa loves looking for eggs – the chickens are free range, and tend to lay eggs everywhere – and thinks every day is Easter now. The boys are riding their ATVs, exploring our 60 acre spread, and making new friends of some of our closest neighbors (a 10 to 15 minute walk away). Everyone is enjoying the pool, and the occasional short drive to the ocean.
My brother and I are keeping busy cutting down some dead trees in the pastures, killing and cutting down some of the weeds and brush that have built up, and planting new hay. Joe’s done most of the work, as I was foolish enough to get burned while we were burning one of the brush piles we built up. Maybe I should stick to the safety of Internet Marketing and forget this horse farm stuff…
No way baby, I’m living the dream!
Hopefully, you’ll be living your own dreams in a year or two as well. With that in mind, let’s get to the advice.
Tips for Beginners
Picking the right affiliate programs
Although I am loathe to suggest a formula for picking the right affiliate programs to promote – your own personal skills, knowledge and ad writing styles are the best drivers of that process – so many of you have emailed me asking for help with this task, I feel I ought to provide at least a few more guidelines for picking programs early in your careers.
1. Stick with lower CPA programs in the beginning. Say about $5 or less per commissionable event. This isn’t because you can’t make money on some of those programs that pay $100+ commission, because you can, but typically those high commissions are the result of low conversion rates, and this means that you might have to spend between $200 to $500 before you can really be sure whether the campaign is a winner or a loser. A $5 commission program will usually convert a bit better, and you can usually get statistically significant data spending just $10 to $25. Save those high CPA programs for after you are already making money, and can afford to lose more in the search for additional profitable campaigns.
2. Look for well-known companies and brands to promote. Again, this isn’t because you can’t make money on the lesser known brands, but it is easier to attract customers to a known brand, and when you are just learning the ropes and trying to develop your ad writing skills, a well known domain name makes the process much less frustrating in terms of generating a useful number of clicks in a shorter period of time.
3. Look for programs that offer performance incentives that include relatively easy goals in the beginning – not just higher commissions for 100k+ in sales, but lower performance tiers that help you improve your return at regular performance levels, starting with some relatively modest goals. My all-time favorite affiliate program for beginners, and one that offers the potential to make at least between a few hundred to a few thousand per quarter when you become proficient, is Amazon.
Quick Start Guide
As always, I recommend my Quick Start Guide to take you step by step through the initial startup process of starting your own Search Marketing business.
New Affiliate Networks & Programs
This week, I have received the list of AzoogleAds.com’s top 5 performing campaigns from last week and I thought I’d pass the list along to you, so you’d know which programs their affiliates are having the most success with, and so you can take a stab at promoting one or more of these successful campaigns yourself. This time, I have included the eCPC (basically the average earnings per hundred clicks) ad the CR (conversion rate). Keep in mind, both these figures include search marketing and website generated statistics.
ID Offer Title eCPC CR
4577 Thumbplay Private – Sprint, Cingular & Verizon traffic $1.38 8.81%
4497 *Exclusive* RockinRinger $1.32 8.84%
4552 Webfetti – English Only (US, UK, CA, AUS, IRL, NZL) -ZKxdm021 $0.09 3.79%
3905 DadaMobile – Brazilian Ringtones $0.10 10.22%
3350 *Exclusive* Blinko Wizard – Today’s Hottest Ringtones! $0.98 7.45%
Just sign up now with AzoogleAds.com, and search for the affiliate programs and get the tracking code you’ll need to begin running ads for them. As always, if you run into problems joining this – or any other – affiliate network, drop me an email at AffiliateSupport@AffiliateMillions.com and I’ll work with the network on your behalf to get you accepted.
Search Engine Marketing Tips
Ad-Tuning
I like to repeat some of the more important advice from time to time – to remind veterans and inform newcomers – and the most important piece of advice every search marketer needs to remember is the importance of ad tuning. No single technique has contributed more to my success then my habit of carefully writing ads and then testing them against similar ads to try and identify possible improvements. Unless you firmly establish an ad at the very top of the search results for your keywords, with the lowest possible CPC (under three cents on Google, for instance), you should continuously try to improve your ads by creating new, almost identical ads to run alongside the current best performing ad. Make small changes to a word or two, or replace a whole line in the title or description, then run that ad alongside the other to see if it performs better or worse than the original. I have a number of helpful suggestions for this process in my book.
In addition to the techniques listed in my book, you should be aware that Google AdWords will now allow you to pause an ad, rather than delete it, when you wish an ad to stop showing within an ad group. This feature is important because ad history is important to the Google algorithm. I have on occasion deleted an ad I thought I had improved upon, only to find that I had either incorrectly interpreted the results, or that the ad history itself was still critical to the success of the ad group. If you pause an ad, and then experience a sharp drop in performance, you can correct the problem by simply resuming the ad. If, however, you delete ads when you believe you are done with them, you will not be able to undo the deletion. You can recreate an ad that is identical to the old one, but you cannot recreate the ad history, save by the slow passage of time.
Search and Content Networks
By now, some of you may be ready to branch out beyond Yahoo! And Google, and try some of the second tier search engines. Although these other search and content networks might not be as big as the others, they can still deliver additional volume, sometimes for much less per click than their better known rivals.
Website Promotion
One thing to keep in mind when you are promoting a website of your own is the importance of search engine optimization (SEO). Be sure to focus some of your efforts toward getting your site to appear in the natural search engine results. If you successfully climb to the top of a few key searches, you will begin getting the best kind of traffic… FREE!
A great book on SEO that I have recommended before is Insider Seo & Ppc: Get Your Website to the Top of the Search Engines, available now on Amazon.
Website Templates
As I have also mentioned many times before, our FREE website templates are one of the services I am the proudest of.
With the recent changes of companies like eBay.com – which no longer allows direct search marketing – landing pages could become the affiliate wave of the future.
Presently, as Affiliate Millions is still just getting started, we have only one template available. It is a template for an online college degree selection site, and it is available at www.AffiliateMillions.com/web-design.html. You can view a working example of the website at www.Great-Colleges.com.
I strongly suggest Affiliate Fuel for your source of education offers to list on this site, as they have a large number of high paying, high converting college degree offers.
Good Luck, future Affiliate Millionaires!

Hi Everybody,
Well, I’m taking the whole family up to the ranch on Monday to spend the summer. The kids already love it, but this will be Robyn’s first time actually staying there. Hopefully, she will fall in love with it too, and I can finally start leading the life of a country gentleman.
“Land spreadin’ out so far and wide… keep Manhattan just give me that countryside!”
Before I get started with the advice this week, it has come to my attention that some of your newsletter requests did not make it onto the newsletter list until this week, including some from as long ago as April. I want to apologize to those subscribers who have missed out, and offer them the chance to read through some of the archived newsletters, should they wish to do so. I will be trying to publish these newsletter archives to the Discussion Board, but until then, you may simply reply to this email with “Request for archives” in the subject or body of the email, and I will make sure you get copies of any newsletters you may have missed.
Tips for Beginners
This issue’s big tip is to check out the Affiliate Millions Discussion Board, which is now fully functional. We now have a number of posts and comments on a variety of subjects, and there is a lot to be learned for a beginner – or an expert – on the board. Also, you may feel free to post your own questions or comments as well. As always, you may also query me directly at AffiliateSupport@AffiliateMillions.com.
Affiliate Network & Program tips
Using Landing Pages
Earlier this month, I promised some more detailed advice on how to use landing pages for affiliate programs like eBay’s, whose new payout structure includes a prohibition on direct search marketing (running ads for eBay on search engines that link directly to eBay). Under this prohibition, you are still allowed to advertise a site of your own on Search Engines that in turn will link to eBay.
The success of this new strategy will depend on more than just your ad text and keyword selection – your primary concerns in direct search marketing. Now you will need to add the quality of your landing page to your list of concerns. Google will be looking at two things when they review your ad’s landing page; relevance and content.
Relevance is simple, if you are running an ad against keywords like baby carriage, car seat, baby stroller, etc., then you will want to make sure that these items are featured prominently on the landing page. Luckily, eBay has an easy to use Editor Kit that will help you create dynamically relevant eBay item lists for your own page to display. This is almost as good as sending them to a similar page on eBay, as you will get up to the second listings, and they will be able to shop and buy from your page as easily as from eBay.
Content can be more difficult, and Google can be funny about what they do and don’t approve. Sometimes, just offering a relevant list of items for sale like suggested above is enough. Other times, Google might decide that the page is only an advertisement (without other content) and shut off your ad. The key is to be certain you offer some content besides just what is for sale. Content can be relevant tips, advice, discussion or news. The fresher the better, as this will improve your Google page rank, and landing page rank will help your ad in the Google AdWords algorithm. One simple trick, if you are stumped on how to provide fresh content yourself, is to get relevant news stories delivered to your page by a free news content provider like InterestAlert.com. This news is easy to incorporate into your page, can be customized to the content of your page, and will satisfy Google’s content requirements.
I have a VERY simple example of these two tools – the Editor Kit and InterestAlert.com – at www.Find-Great-Deals-Here.com/eBay.
I leave it to you to make the necessary improvements to the look and feel of your page to make it as successful as possible, or you may enlist the help of the experts at Dotster for Fast and Affordable Custom Web Design. They can also assist you in finding and buying a domain name, as well as hosting your new site.
Search Engine Marketing Tips
Search and Content Networks
Up until this week, Google AdWords has always been my first recommendation for Search and Content Networks. They did pioneer pay-for-performance advertising, after all. But after several weeks of Yahoo’s new pay-for-performance system being in place, I have moved them to the top of my list of recommendations. It is not so much that I can say they are simply better than Google – they each still each have their own advantages that make that a difficult, case by case call – but I believe they are certainly as good as Google, and in many areas the competition is not yet quite as fierce (or savvy) as on Google AdWords.
I encourage all of you who have not given Yahoo a try already to take advantage of the current offer;
That’s all for this week.

Hi Everybody,
The bad news is; I don’t have much prepared for this month’s newsletter.
The good news is; the reason I haven’t gotten the newsletter together in time is I have been killing myself trying to get this discussion board working… And at long last it works!!!
I have pre-populated some discussion threads based on your emails, and please feel free to register and post your own comments and questions. I have quite a few other tasks to catch up on now, so I may not respond to your posts for a couple days, but I will certainly get to them as soon as I can. I’ll try and put out a meatier mid-month newsletter in a couple of weeks.
But wait! I almost forgot… you’ll want the address of the discussion board, I’ll bet. There is a text link at the bottom of the main page of Affiliate Millions – still waiting on the button – but you can reach it directly at www.AffiliateMillions.com/discussion-board/index.php.
Let me know what you think of the site, and if it is intuitive enough to use.

Hi Tony,
Okay, we are having some technical difficulties getting the discussion board working, but I swear it will be up and running by this time next week.
I can’t get started without first mentioning some big news this week in the Affiliate Program world. I received notice this week that eBay is changing its payout structure. Most of the changes are positive, but one change is troubling. As of June 1st, eBay.com will no longer allow search marketers to link directly to the eBay.com site. Up until now, eBay has been one of the most search marketing friendly programs on the web, and one of the largest, too.
Hopefully, this experiment will show eBay just how effective their search marketing affiliates really have been, as the cost of writing and running ads on an almost infinite number of keywords relative to their product line, and the hassle of constantly adding new ones, becomes better known. If eBay declares this experiment a success, however, other internet giants – and smaller companies as well – could follow suit.
Whatever the future holds, however, you can rest assured that Affiliate Millions will do its best to help you adapt to the changing environment. In next month’s newsletter, I will try to put together some advice on creating simple landing pages to link to eBay with (a practice still allowed under the new rules).
New Affiliate Networks & Programs
This week’s focus is on Affiliate Networks whose application processes are most friendly to Search Marketers (that is, those of us directly marketing other sites, without a site of our own). These networks do not require a website URL to join, and quickly review and approve submitted applications.
Search and Content Networks
Right now, I myself am not working with any search engines but Google and Yahoo! For those of you with more experience, who understand the challenges that these third tier search engines present, but believe you can improve your bottom line with an increase in volume, you can see a complete list of recommended search engines at www.AffiliateMillions.com, but otherwise you should start with these two.

Website Design & Marketing Tips
The bulk of my success with affiliate programs has been with search marketing, and I believe it is the easiest and quickest path to profitability, but considering this week’s announcement from eBay, it may be that landing pages are the future of search marketing. With this in mind…
A great book about promoting your own website that I read in preparation for launching the Affiliate Millions website is Insider Seo & Ppc: Get Your Website to the Top of the Search Engines, available now on Amazon.
Hi Everybody,
I’m going to be quick this week, because I have a lot of tidying up to do this weekend. I am flying my parents to Tampa for their anniversary, and also to see Robyn, the kids and I. Next Friday I am taking them up to the Florida panhandle to visit my horse farm. If all goes well, they’ll like it enough to pack up and move down with me.
You see, I am originally from Massachusetts, but when the big money started rolling in, I had to flee to tax friendly Florida, leaving friends and family behind. It didn’t sit very well with me, though, so I bought 60 acres of land and offered a free acre to any of my – or Robyn’s – family members who wanted to come along with us. My brother has moved down to the ranch already (he’s running the place for me), and my sister, grandmother and parents-in-law have also been down to see the place, but getting my mother and father on board with the plan should really get the ball rolling.
Between us, Robyn and I have 11 brothers and sisters (most with families of their own), 4 parents and 5 grandparents we’d like to move onto the farm with us, so it should be quite the little neighborhood when we are done.
New on Affiliate Millions
Discussion Board
I have heard from quite of few of you who have read my book, Affiliate Millions: Make a Fortune using Search Marketing on Google and Beyond, and visited my website. Some of you have had follow-up questions, and others have run into some difficulties with the fast changing environment – encountering some instances where small parts of the advice offered in the book need updating. To address these concerns, I have sped up the process of bringing the Affiliate Millions Discussion Board online, and I expect it to go live sometime early next week. This should provide not only a forum for me to answer questions and post updates, but also a resource for others who may have the same, or similar, questions.
Many thanks, by the way, to those of you who were kind enough to consent to using our email conversations to pre-populate some discussion threads.
Affiliate Networks
Many of you have found the application process at some affiliate networks to be counter-intuitive, and not “Search Marketer” friendly. This week I am recommending two networks, one new, and one just added 2 weeks ago, to my list of recommended networks. Both of these networks, in addition to offering a wide variety of competitive affiliate programs, offer simple and intuitive applications that are easy to fill out, whether you are a search marketer or website owner.
They are ClickXchange and AzoogleAds.com.
Next week, I will return to publishing the full version of the newsletter.
Good Luck, future Affiliate Millionaires!

Hi Everybody, Well, I didn’t make it up to the ranch last weekend after all. I just couldn’t find the time. My own schedule was wide open, of course, but the kids had too many ball games, dance pictures, birthday parties and so on, and so on, and so on…. Imagine that! My kids have busier calendars than I do. It wasn’t so long ago that it was the other way around, and my work schedule would force me to miss games, recitals, and sometimes even cancel family outings so I could respond to some emergency or other at work. I’m sure you know exactly what I am talking about. I think the best part of succeeding as a search marketer of affiliate programs hasn’t been the millions I’ve earned – although the $$ is a close second – but the freedom I’ve won for myself and my family. I’ll never have to miss another soccer game or school play so that I can solve somebody else’s problems. But I’m not the first person to succeed online, and I’m sure I won’t be the last, either. With a little hard work – and some good advice – you can win this same freedom for yourself and your family.Tips for BeginnersSpeaking of Good AdviceOf course, the first suggestion I have for those of you who are just getting started is to read my book, Affiliate Millions: Make a Fortune using Search Marketing on Google and Beyond. In Affiliate Millions, I explain just exactly how you can join affiliate networks and programs, and then use search marketing to immediately promote these programs and start earning commissions – all without the hassle and expense of creating and maintaining a website of your own. Once you get started, I’ll show you some simple techniques for monitoring the performance of your campaigns based on profitability. Some folks spend way too much time and money on fancy monitoring techniques and software, and focus far too much on abstracts like CTR (Click-thru-Rate), forgetting that the bottom line is, after all, the bottom line. Instead, I’ll focus most of your time and energy on the most important aspect of search marketing – writing good ads!Quick Start GuideI know I recommend this almost every week in my Tips for Beginners section, but my Quick Start Guide is a great tool to walk you through the process of starting your own Search Marketing business.New Affiliate Networks & ProgramsOne of my featured network’s last week was AzoogleAds.com.This week, I have received a list of AzoogleAds.com’s top 5 performing campaigns and I thought I’d pass the list along to you, so you’d know which programs their affiliates are having the most success with, and so you can take a stab at promoting one or more of these successful campaigns yourself. 1. 2. Ad ID 4000: True.com – Search Only *note: offer is exclusively promoted by search marketers, but you can check out the landing page at True.com
3. Ad ID 1885: DadaMobile – 10 Bonus Tones
4. Ad ID 4539: Blockbuster Total Access ($9.99/mo) *note: they also have a Free Trial Offer to promote
5. Ad ID 3824: Dictionary – Toolbar (MIVA)Just sign up now with AzoogleAds.com, and use the Ad IDs above to search for the affiliate programs and get the tracking code you’ll need to begin running ads for them. As always, if you run into problems joining this – or any other – affiliate network, drop me an email at AffiliateSupport@AffiliateMillions.com and I’ll work with the network on your behalf to get you accepted.Search Engine Marketing TipsSearch and Content NetworksYou can always see a complete list of recommended search engines at www.AffiliateMillions.com/Search-Engine-Marketing-Networks, but unless you are already maximizing your traffic volume from these two giants below, I wouldn’t rush off to try any of the others. The quality of traffic is not as high on the second and third tier networks, and I use them primarily when I need to reach the next performance tier of a campaign in a month during which I am falling just short of reaching that next tier. I often lose money per click on these other search engines, but it can be worth it if I raise the EPC (Earnings per Click) of all my traffic by reaching a higher commission level. Other than that, there aren’t too many reasons for using any search engines but these two.Google AdWords – The pioneer in pay-for-performance search marketing. Google’s AdWords program is one of the top pay-for-performance search engines.Yahoo/Overture Sponsored Search – Yahoo! represents one of the largest and oldest search engines on the web. Trimming the FatKeep in mind as you write your ads and choose your keywords, that your goal is not necessarily to get the most clicks possible. You can write an ad touting a free product or service that is available on your client’s website – and it will get lots more clicks than an ad that doesn’t mention the freebie – but unless your commission is tied to that freebie, you may be paying for a lot traffic that earns you little or nothing back. It’s sometimes better to write an ad that is not as broadly appealing, but delivers better quality traffic. Website Design & Marketing TipsWeb Hosting, Design & More
Whether you are interested in finding and securing domain names, designing a website or professionally hosting your site on a secure and reliable web server, GoDaddy.com is one of the most trusted names in the business, and affordable to boot. They have hosting plans starting at just $3.99 per month, and you can find and buy domain names for as little as just $1.99.Website TemplatesI can’t seem to help myself when it comes to promoting my FREE website templates. Special EditionRe: Affiliate Network Application Issues
Hi Everybody, It has recently come to my attention that a number of my subscribers have encountered difficulties while trying to sign up with some affiliate networks, Affiliate Fuel in particular. Two issues are most common.
1. Site Name and URL issues – Direct search marketing of affiliate programs does not require a site of your own, but many affiliate network applications still ask for this information, and some will not allow the application to even be submitted without it.
2. Average Number of Unique Visitors to Site – Many applications ask for the number of visitors to your site per day or month, and although as search marketers we may be capable of showing these ads to thousands of people each day, we still don’t have visitors to a site of our own generating this statistic.
The solutions for this are as follows;
1. Fill in the website name and website URL fields with a search engine name and URL (such as www.google.com) and use the website description field to state your intention to use search marketing on that site – and other search sites – to generate traffic.
2. If you are asked for a unique number of visitors to your site per day or per month, you should instead use the average number of impressions your ads receive on a given day or month. This is the nearest correlating statistic for search marketers, and most affiliate networks will accept it, but explain in the website description field that is it the average number of impressions you used to complete this field.
3. If you are just getting started, do not use actual impressions, as you may have few or none, but estimate your future impressions. A minimum of 350 per day, or 10,000 per month will get you accepted into most networks, and either of those numbers should be very easy to actually deliver.
With Affiliate Fuel in particular, I can offer some additional help. My contact there has advised me that if my subscribers add “referred by tonybbb” (my account ID) to the description field, the application will go to him before it is approved or denied, and he can work with me to assist in getting it approved if there are any issues. Also, if you ever run into any difficulty, feel free to ask me for assistance or advice. You can email me at AffiliateSupport@AffiliateMillions.com and I will research your problem and respond as soon as I can. I’m not sure yet what turnaround time to tell you to expect, as I have only just begun to publish this address, and I am uncertain as to the volume of requests I may receive.Good luck future Affiliate Millionaires!
